Commerce Drive) NMC Admin Building 6180 N Corona Rd Northwest Medical Center Classroom D BLS for Healthcare Provider CPR Renewal The AHA ’s BLS courses reinforce healthcare professionals' understanding of the importance of early CPR and defibrillation, performing basic steps of CPR , relieving choking, using an AED , and the role of each link in the Chain of Survival. The BLS for Healthcare Providers - Classroom Course is designed to provide a wide variety of healthcare professionals the ability to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR , use an AED , and relieve choking in a safe, timely and effective manner. This is a four (4) hour re-certification class. You MUST bring your current BLS Healthcare Provider card with you to class. Class will run from approximatly 09:00-13:00. It also covers airway management and related pharmacology. In this course, skills are taught in large, group sessions and small, group learning and testing stations where case-based scenarios are presented. This is an eight (8) hour re-certification class. You MUST bring your current ACLS Provider card with you to class. CPR is not part of the cirriculum. If you require a CPR re-certification as well, please sign up for that seperately. The goal of the Pediatric Advanced Life Support Course is to improve the quality of care provided to seriously ill or injured children, resulting in improved outcomes. This is an eight (8) hour re-certification class. You MUST bring your current PALS Provider card with you to class. Class will run from approximatly 09:00-17:00 with a lunch break provided. Commerce Drive) Advanced Medical Life Support (AMLS) Advanced Medical Life Support (AMLS) is the leading prehospital advanced medical assessment and treatment program that offers a "think outside the box" diagnosis methodology and is endorsed by the National Association of EMS Physicians. NAEMT’s Advanced Medical Life Support (AMLS) course is the first EMS education program that fully addresses how to best assess and manage the most common medical crises in patients, offering a "think outside the box" methodology. It is for all levels of practitioners with a strong commitment to patient care, including emergency medical technicians, paramedics, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurse anesthetists and physicians. AMLS is a sixteen-hour, two-day program that consists of interactive lectures, teaching and evaluation stations. The interactive/case based lectures include the following topics: a ltered mental status and neurologic disorders, r espiratory dysfunction, shock, chest discomfort, e ndocrine, metabolic and environmental disorders, abdominal discomfort, infectious disease, and t oxicologic emergencies, hazardous materials and weapons of mass destruction.
